Cankercillin® is a patented highly effective dry-dosage form of benzylpenicillin-based topical troche delivered directly to the ulcer site for accelerating wound healing and pain relief of canker sores. Cankercillin® is intended to be used as a prescription topical drug and it is a product of Sutton Pharm, Inc. -- a US-based pharmaceutical company incorporated in 2009 to carry out the task of finalizing the pre-marketing application for Cankercillin®.  

Canker Sores are recurring, shallow, painful ulcers of the mouth. During 2009 canker sores will afflict an estimated 575,060,800 people in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Member States of the European Union, Russia, China, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. Generally, an estimated 20 percent of the general population of each country suffers from this recurring disease. The incidence rates of recurrent cancer sores among patients with autoimmune disorders, such as HIV/AIDS, Crohn's Disease, and Behcet's Disease are even higher, approaching 100% under certain subsets of patient population.

 Sutton Pharm has successfully completed the phase I and phase II safety and efficacy clinical trial studies for the US FDA IND application (IND#58,004).  Based on the safety and efficacy data, the FDA has allowed the company to proceed to phase III clinical studies for the final New Drug Application (NDA).

Sutton Pharm is continuing its efforts to obtain FDA approval to market Cankercillin® in the USA. The company will seek Marketing Authorization for the sale of Cankercillin® within the member states of the European Union.
